The large American flag, contrasted against the beautiful blue sky just about says it all.
On May 26, 2008, Memorial Day, the flag, which was sent to me from RP1 Alan Grow of the SeaBees serving in Iraq, was raised in the center of town in Pleasant Mount, PA. Pleasant Mount is a small town of under 4,500 people.
The flag was raised in honor of my 22 year old nephew, Army Sgt. Andrew Brown. Andy died in Baghdad, Iraq on October 8, 2004. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 509th Infantry, Fort Polk, Louisiana.
The flag, sent from the Troops to say "thanks remembering us with T-shirts", will fly proudly in Pleasant Mount on Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Independence Day.
